Have a little faith in me

When the road gets dark
And you can no longer see
Just let my love throw a spark
And have a little faith in me

And when the tears you cry
Are all you can believe
Just give these loving arms a try
And have a little faith in me

Have a little faith in me
Have a little faith in me
Have a little faith in me
Have a little faith in me

When your secret heart
Cannot speak so easily
Come here darlin'
From a whisper start
To have a little faith in me

And when your back's against the wall
Just turn around and you will see
I will catch, I will catch your fall baby
Just have a little faith in me

Well, I've been loving you for such a long time girl
Expecting nothing in return
Just for you to have a little faith in me
You see time, time is our friend
'Cause for us there is no end
And all you gotta do is have a little faith in me
I said I will hold you up, i will hold you up
Your love gives me strength enough
So have a little faith in me

The last hour

One Hour Left-till I must let you go,
I stare at your face and silently scream NO!
I miss you already, I looked at you and said,
as I made sure to be careful of your soft little head,
You were simply perfect, 10 fingers, 10 toes,
Your Daddy's eyes, and your Mommy's nose,
we coulnd't stop crying, your daddy and me,
Our hearts were as broken, as broken could be,
We wanted you Kaylan, I swear that is true,
But we had to do what was best for YOU,
We sobbed and stared, as the clock ticked on,
1 half hour now, until you were gone,
I started to think of the months before,
Then began to cry more and more,
I remembered then, why my choice was right,
But I'll sure miss your kicks in my belly at night,
10 minutes now, and I began to pray,
I felt my heart be ripped out that day,
I prayed for your safty, your happiness, and heart,
then I told you how I have loved you from the start,
I prayed you'd understand that my love is true,
and that this really was the right thing for you,
Their was a lot to that prayer, but now it's a blur,
Then, I told my child, how much I'd miss her...
I swear I saw you smile that day,
As I wished to myself that you could stay-
But the time was up as my heart broke in two,
I knew what it was that I had to do,
I thought to myself, how will I do this,
Then I handed you to Daddy with some tears and a kiss,
He told you he loved you and kissed your sweet head,
I don't know about him, but I felt numb, almost, dead,
I have felt dead since then, without you next to me,
But it's all worth it see, because you are happy,
Much happier with your new mom and dad my princess, that's true...
But don't ever think that we don't miss you,
With all our hearts, Miss Kaylan Marie,
we are here and we love you...your FIRST family

Precious little son

Today's the day that you were made
A new life has begun
Within the womb inside of me
My precious little son

Half of you was waiting
For years & years it seems
For him to come & make you one
New life inside of me

From this first day you changed me
Now through your eyes I see
Do I want your eyes to look at
The same things that I see ?

I look around at this world of mine
In a way I've never done
I think...Is it safe here
For my precious little son ?

Sadly I know
The answer is no
So I drop down to my knees
I cry as I ask Jesus
Please help you & me

Where are the smiling faces
For your new eyes to see?
They are not here in my world
If I die...They may never be

I can only protect you for a while
While you are safe inside of me
So I search for smiling happy faces
For your brand new eyes to see

Again I ask Jesus
To help me find someone
To love this life inside of me
My precious little son

I know someone is waiting
God has chosen them
To give you all the love you need
& make you part of them

How I know you need them
How they have prayed for you to come
So they can share a part of their world with
Their precious little son

I found the happy smiling faces
That I want you to see
& they can't wait to meet their son
That lives inside of me

Their world is so much brighter
So I share my love for you
With lots of happy smiling faces
& they will let me love you too

I will always love you
I want you to know
You are in my heart forever
You are everywhere I go

Now we wait on your arrival
We can't wait for you to see
How good it feels to share a love
That only through God can be

Our happy smiling faces
Stand together now as one
To love this life inside of me
Our precious little son

I wish for you a better life

I wish for you a beautiful life,
I know giving you this,
Will cut deep like a knife.

We both must stay strong,
For one day we’ll meet,
I hope years aren’t long,
I hope it is sweet.

I wish for you a beautiful life,
It is all I have now to offer,
In my hopes and dreams you surely will stay,
Happily Ever After...

A Mother's Prayer

They laid the baby in her arms
She watched her new born son sleepin'
She bowed her head in silent prayer
To ask the Lord for his safe keepin'
You know his life has just begun
And sometimes it won't treat him fair

So be with him when I can't,
All I can give my little man
Is this mother's prayer

A mother's prayer can move a mountain
A mother's prayer is pure as gold
And the angels up in heaven,
Make sure she gets heard up there
Cause there's nothing that's more precious
To Gods ear than a mother's prayer

She tries her best to explain
As she holds his little hand
She says you're ment for better things
I hope that you can understand
Now all the papers have been signed
And your new home's waiting there
And one day they'll tell you soon,
How you were the answer to
Another mother's prayer

A mother's prayer can move a mountain
A mother's prayer is pure as gold
And the angels up in heaven,
Make sure she gets heard up there
Cause there's nothing that's more precious
To Gods ear than a mother's prayer

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today
we had an answer to a prayer
when we finally received a call
to say that *you* were there.

'Though holding only a photo,
ours hearts were lost that day
to a tiny girl in China
half a world away.

The baby face and tiny ears,
the lovely almond eyes,
the chubby oh-so-kissable cheeks
held power to mesmerize.

The distance seemed to melt away
'though still a world a apart.
Gazing at your picture,
we met you heart-to-heart.

At long last knowing you were real
a child to call our own,
the daughter we were soon to meet
to finally bring you home.

And now I hold you in my arms a
nd count my blessings from above
because just one year ago today
we were given *you* to love.

My Child

My child,
I carried you in my heart
before you were even born
And dared to dream
that you were real.
My child,
I carried your picture with me
since the day I received it,
And dared to love
a child I was yet to meet.
My child,
I carried you in my arms at last,
and gazed in helpless wonder
at your face,
and dared to lose
my heart to you.
An now, my child,
a dream fulfilled,
a prayer answered,
a family created,
I have dared to become a mom.
And so now,
my precious child,
I shall carry you home.

Adopted child.

Once there were two women,
who never knew each other.
One you do not remember,
the other you call mother.

Two different lives shaped,
to make your one.
One became your guiding star,
the other became your sun.

The first gave you life,
the second taught you how to live in it.
The first gave you the need for love,
the second was there to give it.

One gave you a nationality,
the other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent,
the other gave you an aim.

One gave you emotions,
the other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile,
the other dried your tears.

One gave you up,
it was all she could do.
The other prayed for a child,
and god led him straight to you.

And now you ask me through your tears,
the age old question through the years.
Heredity or environment,
which are you a product of?
Neither, my darling, neither,
just two different kinds of love.

One last road to travel -
One last way to go.
One more day to forever -
Just to let you know.
The wait is finally over -
The journey now is through.
And now this comes to let you know -
Dreams really do come true.

The story of your life

Don't say you're not important,
It simply isn't true,
The fact that you were born,
Is proof, God has a plan for you.

The path may seem unclear right now,
But one day you will see,
That all that came before,
Was truly meant to be.

God wrote the book that is your life,
That's all you need to know.
Each day that you are living,
Was written long ago.

God only writes best sellers,
So be proud of who you are,
Your character is important,
In this book you are the "Star".

Enjoy the novel as it reads,
It will stand throughout the ages,
Savor each chapter as you go,
Taking time to turn the pages.

When you thought I wasn't looking

A message every parent should read,
because your
children are watching you and doing as you do,
not as you say...

"When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator,
and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking
I saw you feed a stray cat,
and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make my favorite cake for me
and I learned that little things
can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking
I heard you say a prayer,
and I knew there is a God I could always talk
to and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick,
and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you give of
your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I felt you kiss me
good night and I felt loved and safe.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you take care
of our house and everyone in it
and I learned we have
to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw how you handled your responsibilities,
even when you didn't feel good
and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw tears come from your eyes
and I learned that sometimes things
hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw that you cared
and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and
productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I looked at you and
wanted to say,
Thanks for all the things
I saw when
you thought I wasn't looking.'"

The Gift of Life

I didn't give you the gift of life,
But in my heart I know.
The love I feel is deep and real,
As if it had been so.

For us to have each other
Is like a dream come true!
No, I didn't give you The gift of life,
Life gave me the gift of you.

The chosen heart

Longing for a child to love,
I'd wish upon the stars above.
In my heart I always knew,
A part of me was meant for you.

I think how happy we will be,
Once I adopt you, and you adopt me.

I dream of all the joy you'll bring,
Imagining even the littlest things.
The way it will feel to hold you tight,
And tuck you in every night.

The drawings on the refrigerator door,
And childhood toys across the floor,
The favorite stories read again and again,
And hours of games with make-believe friends.

The day you took my outstretched hand,
A journey ended, but our lives began.
Still mesmerized by your sweet face,
Still warmed inside by our first embrace.

I promised to give you a happy home,
And a loving family all your own.
A house you've now made complete,
With laughter, smiles and tiny feet.

A parent is one who guides the way,
Know I will be there everyday.
Rest easy as each night you sleep,
A lifetime of love is yours to keep.

Longing for a child to love,
I'd wish upon the stars above.
In my heart I always knew,
A part of me belonged to you.

I See The Moon

I see the moon and the moon sees me,
The moon sees the somebody I want to see.
God bless the moon and God bless me,
And God bless the somebody I want to see.

It seems as though the Lord above,
Created you for me to love.
He picked you out from all the rest,
Because he knew I'd love you the best.

Irish lullaby

Dear Lord

I do not ask,
that Thou shouldst give me some high work of Thine,
some noble calling or some wondrous task.
Give me a little hand to hold in mine.
Give me a little child to point the way,
over the strange sweet path that leads to Thee.
Give me a little voice to teach to praise,
give me two shining eyes Thy face to see.
The only crown I ask, dear Lord to wear is this,
that I may teach a little child.
I do not ask that I may ever stand among the wise,
the worthy, or the great.
I only ask that softly hand in
hand a child and I may enter at the gate

We will be near when you call

We will be near when you call
Pick you up whenever you fall
Till the day will come
You think you're out there
On your own
But you're not alone
Remember that we will be here
And we are only
just a word away

Someone is Waiting

Somewhere, someone is waiting
Though I can't see your face I know your heart
'Cause God has knit us together
Even though we're far apart
And until you can be here safe in my arms
I will trust
That somewhere, someone is holding you close
And keeping you warm.

My thoughts, my prayers are for you
Father, love her, protect her
I know you do
And until that perfect timing
When our hearts and eyes will meet
I will rest know that You are there
I will trust
That somewhere, someone is holding you close
And keeping you warm.

If time could stand still
Our love would bridge the ocean
But know that until then
That even an ocean, can't keep me from you

Hold on, little one, hold on…

And until you can be here safe in my arms
I will trust
That somewhere, someone is holding you close
And keeping you warm.

"And still I wait"

Their so happy,
and excited,
When they ask me
"Any news yet?"

I smile sadly,
And shake my head.
Again I say,
"Not that I've read."

And even though,
There's nothing new,
They quickly ask,
When's number two?

Is she born yet,
And is she safe.
And is she in,
A warm dry place.

In my nightmares,
I protect her.
At least until,
I go and get her.

We are pregnant,
But none believes,
Because our daughter,
Is over seas.

We go shopping,
And clerks assume,
It's not for us,
Or way too soon.

We buy her clothes,
One size fits all?
Is this too big?
Or much too small.

Nursery's done,
And full of toys,
Now all it needs,
Is baby noise.

I thought we'd play,
Go state to state.
A last hurrah!
But we just wait.

I guess I'll wait,
What choice have I.
Seven more months,
But five gone by.

Again I ask,
How do I wait?
But in the end,
I guess I'll wait.

Because as long,
As it will take,
I'm still her dad.
Its worth the wait! -

"The pregnant wait"

An Ultrasound,
Or Referral.
Our first peek at,
Our boy or girl.

Some are Pregnant,
We’re Adopting.
What’s the Diff’rence.
Really Nothing.

Some come by Stork,
Some come by Plane,
When they arrive,
It’s all the same.

Our boys and girls,
Despite the path,
Still need our love,
Our hugs and laughs.

We dream daily,
How she’s doing,
What she looks like,
How she’s feeling.

Is She Healthy,
And do they care,
Is she happy,
Or is she scared.

Do they hold her,
Rock her to sleep,
Do they give her,
Enough to eat.

I vent my fears,
Four words per line,
I let them out,
With words that rhyme.

We read the books,
On Week-by-Week,
On how she grows,
And best car seats.

I watch the clock,
And Calendar too.
Trying to guess,
When she is due.

Not for the day,
When she arrives,
But for the day,
She joins our lives.

Because one day,
Out of the blue,
Our girl is born,
Somehow we knew.

We are pregnant,
In our own way,
All celebrate,
“Forever Day”.

Despite my fears,
I must have faith,
Warm and healthy,
I know she’s safe.

How do I wait?
I’ve asked before,
The Pregnant wait,
I’ll wait some more. -

To mom

I wonder every now and then
Do you remember me, even when
I should appear in front of you
Would I then be a stranger too?
Or do you think when you hold me tight
And close your eyes, as dark as night
That 28 years you gave up on
Me, the one you did call son.....

Molly's Prayer

May you be safe and sleep soundly through the night,
May you be safe as you wake to the morning's light.
May you feel my love from so far away,
May it comfort and protect you throughout each day.

I will pray for you my little one,
Until our time of waiting is done.
I will pray that the Lord keep you safe from harm,
Until the child of my heart becomes the child in my arms.

Upstairs my children, sleeping

Upstairs my children, sleeping,
eyelids closed, and minds at rest,
peacefully lay dreaming.
(I am most richly blessed)
Their laughter fills my mem'ry
setting dinner times apart.
Their conversation lingers.
Their kind deeds warm my heart.
I tip-toe up the stairwell,
and peek into their beds.
I tuck their covers 'round them,
I kiss their hairy heads.
I watch them sleeping soundly
(they don't know that I am there!)
and I recall their loving acts,
the ways they show they care:
their helpfulness in getting things,
of putting things away,
of serving one another, and
by how and what they pray.
Each child, such a treasure,
unique, so precious too,
I count them all such presents.
I wish somehow they knew.
I love my children dearly,
and to watch them as they rest
reminds me in the quiet
I am most deeply blessed.

Not flesh of my flesh

Not flesh of my flesh
nor bone of my bone,
but still miraculously
my own.

Never forget for a
single minute,
you didn't grow under my heart
but in it.

Come stop your crying

Come stop your crying
It will be alright
Just take my hand
Hold it tight
I will protect you
From all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry

For one so small
You seem so strong
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here
Don't you cry

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

You'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart
Why can't they understand
The way we feel
They just don't trust
What they can't explain
I know we're different but
Deep inside us
We're not that different at all

And you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more

Don't listen to them
'Cause what do they know?
We need each other
To have, to hold
They'll see in time
I know

When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you've got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
We'll show them together

'Cause you'll be in my heart
Believe me you'll be in my heart
I'll be there from this day on
Now and forever more
Oh you'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart

Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder
Just look over your shoulder

I'll be there always

You´ll be in my heart

When Winter's Done

A tiny baby, far away,
on the other side of the world.
A precious child who, someday,
will be our little girl.

We're waiting here, your Dad & I
until we get "the call"
that says that we're a family;
that love will join us all.

I watch the falling autumn leaves
and each one's a little prayer
that angels will watch over you
until we can be there.

This winter will seem very long,
the holiday's less bright,
because our hearts will be with you;
we long to hold you tight.

But when the Winter's almost done
and Spring is almost here,
Good news should come from China
that our "family day" is near.

We cannot wait to meet you
for the first time, face to face.
(Who knew we'd find our daughter
in such a special place?)

We're getting things all ready
for when we bring you home;
preparing everything you'll need
to keep you safe and warm.

Each day we're closer to you
our precious little girl.
Your Mommy and Daddy love you so!!
Already, you're our world!!

We haven't seen your face yet,
or kissed away your tears;
we haven't held you in our arms
but still, we feel you near.

We know now what God always knew,
that someday there would be
a tiny child from China
who'd make us a family.

So hurry, Winter, blow on by;
let cold, gray days be past,
for Spring will bring our daughter home
into our arms, at last!

When Mother Earth brings forth new life
with warming from the sun,
Our family's new beginning starts
when the Winter's done.

He who set the stars in space

He who set the stars in space
came by this way today
He left a tiny bundle
within our hearts to stay

He brought to us a miracle
and from the very start
He gave us love unspeakable
boundless love within our heart

What began as only two of us
for all the world to see
By the miracle of adoption
we became a family!

I thought of you a lot today,
I do that more and more.
'Cause thinking of you pleases me,
It helps me to explore...

The endless possibilities
Awaiting us out there.
Because we had the courage
To open up, to care
And when things seem uncertain,
When confusion will abound;
The thing that will sustain us
Will be the love we've found.

And so I send this greeting,
My heartfelt wish to you...
And with it send my love, my heart
Unfailingly to you.

To My Baby

I knew of you before your birth,
I loved you before we ever met.
I prayed for you day and night,
Thankful your birth mother had chosen life.

The waiting was so anxious and hard,
You already held a place in my heart.
Weeks went by, and sometimes I cried.
Finally one day came a call with good news.

Tears of joy fell on my cheek
The first time I held you,
Precious Baby, so tiny and sweet.
I'm thankful your birth mother had chosen life.

Rocking and singing sweet lullabies,
You've brought much joy to so many lives.
I'll love you forever, sweet little one.
Memories to treasure, a new life begun

Your Children

Your Children
Are not your children
They are the sons and daugthers of lifes
Longing for itself
They come through you
But they are not from you
And thought they are with you
They belong not to you

You can give them your love but not your thoughts
They have their own thoughts
You can house their bodys
But noth their souls
For their souls dwell in a place for tomorrow
Which you cannot visit
Not even in your dreams
You can strife to be like them
But you cannot make them just like you
Strife to be like them
But you cannot make them just like you

The Waiting Child

I saw you meet your child today
You kissed your baby joyfully
And as you walked away with her
I played pretend you'd chosen me.

I'm happy for the baby, yet
Inside I'm aching miserably
I want to plead as you go by,
"Does no-one want a child of three?"

I saw you meet your child today
In love with her before you met
And as I watched you take her out
I knew it wasn't my turn yet.

I recognize you from last year!
I knew I'd seen your face before!
But you came for a second babe.
Does no-one want a child of four?

I saw you meet your child today
But this time there was something new
A nurse came in and took MY hand
And then she gave my hand to you.

Can this be true? I'm almost six!
And there are infants here, you see?
But then you kissed me and I knew
The child you picked this time was me

Lullaby to Erle

Lullaby to Erle

Mothers have woven a black velvet ocean
and spread it between the night and day shores
so that children might sleep, gently rocked by the motion
of waves beneath boats built by fathers like yours

With you safe aboard by the shore we will linger
and watch as your breathing it fills up the sail
you loosen the moorings....your grip on our finger
and leave on the velvet a silvery trail

Alone on the shore with our hearts close to breaking
we stand in the wake as you glide from our reach
calmed by the thought that the voyage you're taking
will bring you at dawning back safe to this beach

We cannot sail with you, be there to guide you
or pilot your boat through the dark of the night
but no ocean cap keep you, no darkness can hide you
away from our love and its undying light.

Meeting Grace

I've met you in my dreams a thousand times
and pressed your new body close to mine
listening as our hearts sound in unison
a note in the symphony of soul dance.

And I wonder as I hold you, your tiny body
filling the crook between my elbow and neck,
if ours will be a soft waltz or rollicking rumba.
Some of both I hope as we take the first steps.

How do I wait

It is late,
I lie awake,
the long long wait.

Three months have gone,
or maybe four,
Twelve months to go,
or maybe more.

So many years,
have we tried,
So many tears,
have we cried.

So many loses,
in our past,
So many hopes,
that didn't last.

But life goes on,
despite our cries,
And sometimes changes,
before our eyes.

So Here I lie,
awake and wait,
On the Red Thread,
of our fate.

So much love,
so much joy,
For a girl,
or a boy.

Is she tall,
skinny or fat,
Will she like baseballs,
or pretty blue hats.

She won't have my eyes,
or my wifes blond hair,
But truth be told,
I don't really care.

My little angle,
so far away,
How I wait,
for the day.

We'll board a plane,
and cross the sea,
To be with you,
and you with me.

But for now,
I lay awake,
And I wait,
How do I wait?

From God's Arms to My Arms to Yours

So many wrong decisions in my past,
I'm not quite sure if I could ever hope to trust my judgment anymore.
But lately I've been thinking, because it's all I've had to do.
And in my heart I feel that I should give this child to you.

And maybe you can tell your baby when you love him so
that he's been loved before
by someone who delivered your son
from God's arms to my arms to yours.

And if you choose to tell him and if he wants to know
how the one who gave him life could bear to let him go,
just tell him there was sleepless nights I prayed and paced the floor
and knew the only peace I'd find is if this child was yours.

I know that you don't have to do this, but could you kiss him once for me
the first time that he ties his shoe or falls or skins his knees?
and could you hold him twice as long when he makes his first mistake
and try to tell him that he's not alone? Sometimes that's all it takes.
And he's not alone. I know how much he'll ache.

This may not be the answer for another girl like me
and I'm not on a soap box singing how we all should be.
I'm just trusting in my feelings and I'm trusting God above, and I'm trusting that you can give this baby both his mother's love.

When love takes you in.

Know you've heard the stories
But they all sound too good to be true
You've heard about a place called home
But there doesn't seem to be one for you
So one more night you cry yourself to sleep
And drift off to a distant dream
Where love takes you in and everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in

And somewhere while you're sleeping
Someone else is dreaming too
Counting down the days until
They hold you close and say I love you
And like the rain that falls into the sea
In a moment what has been is lost in what will be

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart

And this love will never let you go
There is nothing that could ever cause this love to lose its hold

When love takes you in everything changes
A miracle starts with the beat of a heart
When love takes you home and says you belong here
The loneliness ends and a new life begins
When love takes you in it takes you in for good
When love takes you in

My dream

When I was young I wished you were a princess,
A princess with beautiful brown eyes.
Those eyes were so innoncent that they coulnd\'t hide any lies.

A princess who met the sweetest prince,
It didn\'t took quite long before she was convinced.
In a few moths she became pregnent.
And this is the way how the princess got a child that wasn\'t planned.

The princess was to young to became a mother
She new that the child couldn\'t stay
So she gave the child away

This is were the story ends
The child lived happily ever after ...
I told this story to myself every day
But when I became older this image fade away

Now I don\'t know what I have to think or do
But I know for sure that you had love me too

Moonlight before my bed,

Moonlight before my bed,
Could it be frost Instead?
